Question

I filed our taxes July 5,2020 for year 2019. The order #: TTWCB175367873 When I go online to why we still haven’t received it, a message saying: we haven’t filed yet.

How could I have a order # if I didn’t file? We filed as: Clyde O Alexander & Virginia M Alexander together. #TTWCB175367873. We received the State tax refund. But not the Federal.

Did you e-file?  It sounds as if you did, since you filed your state return and received your state refund already.   But federal refunds are taking longer due to the pandemic, so it is not surprising that you have not received your federal refund yet.  You might be using the wrong information when you look on the IRS refund site.

Where are you looking for information?  If you are looking in an online TurboTax account you might be in the wrong account.  And TurboTax will not get any updates on your refund since you filed anyway.  The only place to see what is happening with your federal refund is the IRS refund site:

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund.  Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.   You need your Social Security number, your filing status and the exact amount of your federal refund.

Your federal refund amount is on line 20 of your Form 1040
