Question

I filled my 2019 tax return on 02/01/2020 and my federal tax return was accepted by the IRS on 02/03/2020 and I get the notice cp05 From IRS on 03/16/2020 for 60 days review and now more than 60

The IRS is way behind in processing tax returns. They are currently not processing any mailed returns and haven't been for some time. They have not said when they will resume processing them. 

 

Since it has been so long, you may be able to get help from the Taxpayer Advocate Service: https://www.irs.gov/taxpayer-advocate
