I forgot to add a W-2 form for a job I worked shortly for in 2022. What do I do?

If you already filed, you need to wait until that return has been processed.

There is a chance that the IRS will add the missing W-2 and adjust your refund/tax due.

If that does not happen, once the original return has processed, you will need to file a 1040X which is an amended return. You might need to amend your state return as well.

If this will make you owe, be sure to get that paid by April 18th to avoid interest.

So my return has been accepted by both federal and state, so can I amend it now or wait until I get the refund?

It is best to wait until your refund has been processed before starting an amendment.
