Question

I got a check from the IRS this week that I was not expecting in same amount as the underpayment penalty I paid. Did Turbotax request this to be waived on my belhalf?

    There was a late policy change concerning underpayment penalties and the IRS is recomputing returns for those that filed early to refund them the penalty in part or in full ... you should get an IRS letter later to explain the reason for that check.
