I got an e mail saying my federal return was accepted but now on turbo tax it says pending…. And on irs website all it says is that they received it.

Please help me understand… and what do I do?

There is nothing you need to do.

The IRS website shows the tax return has been received (which also means Accepted)

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
