Did the email say assessed or did it say accepted? When you efile a tax return, the IRS either accepts it or rejects it. If it is accepted, the IRS has your tax return and has begun processing it. 

 

You can track your refund at the IRS refund tracking web site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
