Question

I got the second stimulus but didn't enter it in Turbotax. I already filed. Do I need to file an amended return?

I looked through all of my 2020 bank statements and didn't see the $600 anywhere so I entered zero but this caused my refund amount to go up accordingly because Turbotax thought I hadn't receive the stimulus. I did but on January 4, 2021. By the time I realized I got the stimulus, and entered zero, I had already filed. So, I've basically getting the second stimulus twice. Will I need to file an amended return?

It is possible that the IRS will adjust your return for the mistake, since they know how much stimulus money they sent you. If so, you won't need to amend your return. So, you should wait until your return is processed and you receive your refund before you amend your return.
