Question

I had to amend my 2020 tax return, it was accepted 04/05/21 but I can't find an update with the irs? Help?

It takes the IRS a long time to process amended returns---even in normal times it takes about four months, and it has been taking 4-6 months during the pandemic, so do not expect quick results from amending your tax return.

You can track the status of your Federal amended return using the IRS website “Where's My Amended Return” or you can call 1-866-464-2050, (You need to wait about 3 weeks from the date you mailed your amended return for information to show up in their system)
