Question

I had typo in the last name of the person I filed for. The IRS has accepted the 2018 return. All other data on the return is accurate. Should I file an amended return?

If the IRS accepted the return, you don't need to amend.  The IRS didn't see an issue, so will process the return normally.

Only the first 4 letters of the last name need be correct ... there is nothing to fox for this year's return ... next year make sure to correct the mistake.
