Not sure what your problems have been since 2009.   You have not provided any details at all.   Have you been filing your tax returns?   What income did you report to the IRS ?   Provide some information so we have a starting point......right now we know nothing except that you have not received a refund in over ten years.

I was very inexperienced with doing my taxes & very young, naïve regarding my taxes. I filed in 2012  with my little brother who I was the caretaker for, but his mother without my knowledge filed with him which put me in a situation that caused me to be audited. The following year same situation, same results! Provided proof still audited. After that I honestly gave up due to frustration. The year of 2017 being careless I filed my 2015 & 2016 taxes thinking they would be separate, but the irs approved them as an combined income which put me at a -$32,000 taxes return. After that year I honestly stopped due to feeling helpless

@dabarzfiles22 Okay---you are going to need more help than we can provide in a user forum.   You are going to need professional tax help.  As as bad as that might sound to you, it will only get worse.

Do you even have all of the documents you will need to enter and show your income—like your W-2’s and any 1099’s?    You need to start getting all of that together as best you can.

You might need to phone, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2's

There are over a dozen kinds of 1099's.  A 1099NEC is typically issued by an individual or business for whom you performed work as an independent contractor, so seek a copy from them if you did not save yours.  Many of the other types of 1099's are issued by banks, brokerages and other financial institutions from which you can seek copies.

You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS:  It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received.  It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

What if I do not file my tax return?

Keep in mind that if you do not file your tax returns you are going to continue to have problems with the IRS and you are also seriously jeopardizing any future Social Security and/or Medicare benefits you will want to receive someday.    Get this sorted out.
