I have gotten a 4464C LTR Letter form the IRS, what does it mean?

It means the IRS has pulled your return for review but it is not an audit. They are verifying the information reported on your tax return and matching documents they received from payers such as employers, banks, etc.

My return on the irs site says accepted and on its way as of 3/1/2020.But i received the 4464c ltr on the 26th? How can my federal return be accepted and being looked into at the same time?

Accepted just means the IRS accepted your return, it does not mean it's approved or not under review. The status will change from accepted to approved once the IRS is done with processing the return. If you're due a refund this is also when you will get your direct deposit date. Please click here for more information.

Accepted 1-30-20 letter 4464c dated 2-19-2020. I am just going with my gut instinct that some of us who thought we were fortunate enough to get our taxes filed early for once are gonna waiting a long time for our returns. I do however admire the irony of the government witholding my return for god knows how long in order to make sure someone didnt fraudulently withold my return.......... oh wait nm🤔 🤔

Truns out the irs lied about the 4 weeks they cant get anything right. I was told ot will probably take the full 60 days after 45 days they owe you intrest

I’m in same boat. Can’t get a hold of anyone. Due to coronavirus and being out of work need my refund urgently!!
