Question

I have gotten my federal refund it said 393 due on state taxes but getting 543 back

It said i get 543 for system return and that took my 398? I got federal do I still get the return?

    If you have a state balance due, you will need to make that payment directly, it does not come out of your Federal refund.  Your options are to mail a check to your State or set up Direct Debit for the state balance due.
