I have no taxable income, Can I file a return and still get a refund?

If you have no taxable income then you would not have paid any income taxes.  You cannot get a tax refund for income taxes you never paid.

@montyj40 but you may be eligible for some of these  tax credits:

 

assuming you are asking about a 2021 tax return

 

1) if you did not receive the 3rd stimulus, you can file to obtain it.

2) if you have children under the age of 18, you may be eligible for the child tax credit (there are some other reqirements to obtain the credit)

3) if you worked in 2019, evn though this is the 2021 tax return, you may be eligible for the earned income tax credit (there are some other requirments to receive the credit)

 

 And sgsin,  the items above are solely for 2021.  if the question is about 2022, then there no refund (or tax credits) to be had.
