Don't be in a hurry. The IRS is not opening until Jan 29 this year! So you will be waiting awhile to get Accepted or Rejected. And you might get more tax forms in the mail you forgot about or weren't expecting. The employers and banks, etc. don't have to mail the W2 and 1099 forms until Jan 31. That's why we say don't rush to file.

The IRS will start accepting tax returns on January 29. What you did on January 4 was send your tax return to TurboTax. TurboTax will hold it until the IRS starts accepting tax returns on January 29.

We constantly implore people to never file before February...Really !!

I hope you didn't really pay for "Live" and not use the Live agent service...but too late now to change it.

But if you have already filed with TurboTax, you can't make any changes to your return until it is either accepted or rejected by the IRS. If rejected, you can make changes, fix the reason for rejection, and resubmit the return. If your original filing is accepted by the IRS, nothing else needs to be done unless you need to make changes. Then you should wait until you get the refund from the IRS before preparing and filing an amended return to make the changes.
