It is not true. I filed tax returns using TurboTax for my two adult children and their families that included direct deposit information and they both received the stimulus payment by 4/15/20. The family who has a child under age 17 also received the $500 dependent amount.

If you had your TurboTax fees paid from your federal refund, the IRS does not have your direct deposit information even though you entered it on your tax return. The 3rd party bank that took the fees from your refund got the direct deposit information but the IRS did not get it. You should receive a paper check with your stimulus payment at a later date.  You can track the status on the IRS portal: Get My Payment | Internal Revenue Service

Thanks. At least I know it’s not a TurboTax thing. Just to be clear for others who might read this. I got a refund directly from IRS in my Chase account in March. The fees were paid separately with a credit cards (I received the entire refund).

GetMyPayment shows Payment Status not Available. Not for me or my wife filed jointly.

<Rant begin>  It’s really frustrating. I know many who haven’t filed 2019, Non-US Citizens and evening F-1 students who have been in the country for less than a year have been paid the stimulus check - of course they deserve it but wasn’t there any way to prioritize US citizens ? It looks like filing 2019 early was a mistake. After the debacle of the PPP loan which our business did not get (after laying off employees recently), this is just another way we are getting kicked while down. <Rant over>
