Can I send last years amendment to the IRS after I file this years taxes?

You can go ahead and file your taxes this year. Amendments take up to 16 weeks to process. If you want you could file an extension. If you owe all fees still would be due by April 18, 2017. It is all about personal preference and making sure if you owe money you pay it before the due date to avoid any penalties and other fees.
