Each tax year is separate.   If you really want to get an extension for 2021 you can do that, but you might not need to.   An extension gives you extra time to prepare your Form 1040, but not extra time to pay.  You have to pay your estimated 2022 tax due by April 18, 2022.

You will need to contact the IRS regarding your refund for 2020. Please see How do I contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)? for more information, including the IRS phone number and hours of operation. You may want to try calling right when they open since they have been very busy throughout the day.

Please see this Help Article for instructions on how to apply for an extension. Keep in mind that an extension does not give you extra time to pay your taxes.
