I just amended my 2017 tax return. Has this automatically been filed or is there something else I have to do?

Amended return MUST be printed, ink signed and mailed in ... the screens in the FILE should have told you so ... Click on the TOOLS tab then Print center to get the return and instructions needed to file ...

HOW did you amend 2017? 2017 can only be amended by using the 2017 tax software installed on your computer - not online. Unless you have installed the 2017 software and opened the .tax2-017 data file then you have not amended 2017.

Amended returns can only be mailed. It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking service) to verify that the IRS receives it.
