I’m 17 and I filed they only gave me back a dollar for state taxes am I not supposed to get the whole refund since I made under 6 thousand?

Each state has a different exemption amount and tax rates. Depending on your state, you could have a tax liability if you earned over $33. Which state did you file? Did you parents claim your exemption?
