I’m filing my taxes, but my form 6419 has more money than I received on it. Why?

Enter the amount you received based on the 6419 letter the IRS sends you. The remaining credit will be found on Form 1040 line 28.

That didn’t work. Line 28 just reads whatever you put in. There was no calculating done. Thanks anyways.
