I'm using my pay stubs instead of my W-2 form seen as I only worked 4 weeks last year, how do I get the info I don't see?

I only worked three weeks and only received three checks.I am wondering what information I won't be able to get using a paper pay stubs to file

The important information should be on your pay stubs (see list below). Anything else that is missing will not likely affect your tax calculations or tax due/refund.

 

Go to How do I file a substitute W-2 using Form 4852? for instructions on completing the form and filing.

 

Key information for Form 4852:

  • gross wages paid,
  • social security and Medicare wages paid (if different than gross wages),
  • federal income tax withheld, 
  • social security tax withheld
  • Medicare tax withheld
  • state wages
  • state tax withheld
  • local wages (if any)
  • local tax withheld (if any)

Why don't you have a W2 for it?  Ask the employer for another copy.  Did they take out any taxes or withholding or deductions?
