Question

I made a mistake on my NY / NJ forms for 2020. I reported that 3/4 of my income was from NJ because of work from home but it still should have been 100% NY.

NY charged me the 100% - How do I fix NJ to get the $$ back?

You will need to amend your New York and New Jersey state tax returns (if New York did not do the corrections for you).  You will still have to file and report the income to New Jersey as your resident state, but you must add the credit for taxes paid to another state- this will result in a credit from New Jersey since you paid them for 2020 income.
