I mailed in my taxes and the irs says they dont have it

When did you mail them?  How long has it been?  It takes at least 4 weeks for a mailed return just to show up in the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool, and that's in "normal times."  It's quite possibly longer now with the Coronavirus situation, since the IRS is essentially not processing paper returns for the time being.

How did the IRS say so?  Did you phone them previously and speak to an IRS agent prior to the Coronavirus shutdown?   Or are you merely saying you haven't found it in the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool yet?

BTW, I assume you printed, signed, dated, and mailed the return.  TurboTax does not mail them for you.  And if you had both Fed and state returns, hopefully you mailed the Federal return to the IRS, and the state return to the state tax agency.   We have seen some users mistakenly mail both just to the state.
