Mailed returns generally take a longer time to process than the e-filed returns. If you filed your tax return on paper through the mail, you can expect a process time of 6 to 8 weeks from the date the IRS received your tax return documents. Usually, the IRS says to allow 4 weeks before checking the status of your refund and that refund processing can take 6 to 8 weeks from the date the IRS receives your return. You can check the status of your refund at IRS.gov "Where's My Refund"
