Solved

I mailed my return in over 3 months ago, but haven't received anything. When I check my refund status online, it says there is no information available. Should I just send out another copy?

No, do not send another copy of your tax return.

In March the IRS closed their processing centers because of the Covid-19 pandemic and stopped processing mailed tax returns. They are just now starting to process them again, but they have limited staff and a huge backlog, so it will be quite a while before your tax return is processed or any status information is available. An IRS spokesperson recently said that they have about 11 million pieces of unopened mail.

The IRS web site says the following.

"We're experiencing delays in processing paper tax returns due to limited staffing. If you already filed a paper return, we will process it in the order we received it.

"Do not file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return."

Okay, thank you! I wanted to e-file, but was unable to since I did not have my IGN number from last year. No one had an answer for me, but I figured the delay was affected by the pandemic. I just didn't want to miss the deadline if I was incorrect. Thanks again!
