I Need a Copy of My 2020 Tax Return

Hello! Please help! I need a copy of my 2020 Tax Return that I submitted through TurboTax earlier this year. When I go to my profile in TurboTax and click "download return" it gives me instructions of how to submit a return even though my federal and state returns have been accepted already.

All I need is a copy of my 2020 Tax Return for my records. How can I obtain one? I don't want to go through the IRS because I've paid TurboTax for a service. I've used you before and it's been great! And yes, I've tried using multiple browsers, different computers (Mac and PC), and nothing is working.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2019 online tax return.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets

You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURN !

EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

Here's an alternate way to print by opening the filed return back up to print at the Print Center, where you can also get the worksheets.

Log in and at the Tax Home or in the section Your Tax Returns & Documents for 2020, look for a link Add a State. Click on Add a State. (you don't really add one. That's just to open your return back up.)

After the return is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.

Then choose Print, save, view this year's return.

The next screen should offer some options: Just my tax returns or include government worksheets (optional), or include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)

Could someone please call me? I need to ask to have my returns printed and mailed to me. I’m older and really not good with technology and I was unable to print them. I need everything for my bankruptcy trustee. It’s a simple tax filing and return.

NO one can call you from this user forum---and you just posted a lot of your personal information on a public web site.

This is a public web site that can be seen by anyone—including scammers and would-be identity thieves who would love to contact you and pretend to be from TurboTax. Please remove the personal information you posted here ASAP by returning to your post and clicking the three little blue dots on the upper right to edit your post.

No one else has access to your tax return. Nobody can print it and send it to you. This is do it yourself software. You have to print it for yourself.

Nobody can mail or email you anything. Only you can access your return. What do you mean copy? You mean print? You can download the pdf file and put it on a flash drive to take somewhere to print like a office store or friends printer. Or you can log in from any computer to download and print it.

I need amount of Federal Refun

I filed my taxes on time. They we accepted by the Feds and the State, but now I can't access them. I should be receiving some money back but when I asked the Treasure Dept./IRS they need an exact amount which I do not have. Can you please help?

You have to sign onto your 2020 online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the online account.

Close all TurboTax windows on your web browser (including this one). Copy and paste the account recovery website link onto a new web browser window and run the tool.

Use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of all the User ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery

If none of the user ID's received will access your 2020 account, then use the option shown in blue on the account recovery website, "Try something else"

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

To access your online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

The amounts of your refunds will be displayed.

You have to have your return open on the screen to get to Tax Tools and print.

Select Tax Home in the left menu.
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
Select 2020, and then select Add a State (you're not actually adding a state, this just gets you back into your return).

After the return is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then PRINT CENTER.

Then choose Print, save, view this year's return.

TurboTax cannot mail or email your tax returns to you. You can download a PDF of the returns and print them yourself.
