Thank you for that information, unfortunately that does not get me the signed physical 1040X form that was mailed in to the IRS. That is what I need a copy of. I can't get it from the IRS for some reason and I need it for financial aid.

You will print another 1040X and sign it. They don't need the original signed copy; they need a copy and want you to sign. By signing it, you are attesting to it being complete and accurate.
