How do I do my taxes I don't work but I have a 6 yer old for the earn income

if you don't work, do you even have income that would require you to file. if you had no income, rule changes for the child credit were changed for 2022, so you would not be eligible for that credit and if you had no earned income you get no earned income credit.

Without working to earn income you are not eligible for child-related credits.  Those credits are based on receiving income from working.

 

The 2021 child-related credits were very generous.  Lots of people are being taken by surprise this year when they find out the credits for 2022 are lower than they were last year.

 

The tax laws changed for child-related credits and are much less generous for 2022.

AND….If you have children but had  little or no income, it raises the question of how you and the children were supported.  There may be another tax-paying adult who can claim you and/or the children as dependents.
