I need to amend my federal tax return but the option shows "not available until 2/15". I feel like this might be too late as I'm expecting a refund 2/20. Any options?

You are supposed to wait until your return has been fully processed and you receive your refund before you amend. Sometimes the IRS catches certain mistakes and corrects them for you so that you do not have to amend. Be patient.

The Form 1040X will not be available until mid-February.

It's recommended to wait until you get your Federal refund before amending the return. The amendment forms will not be available in TurboTax until mid-February. In the meantime, do not make any changes in your return. It has to start off as originally filed. You will make the changes after you start the amending process once the forms are available.

Why did turbo tax say for weeks I can amend my taxes on February 15 now it’s finally February 15 it says now I can amend on February 22 what’s going on ?

It is too soon to amend a 2024 tax return. You have to wait until it has been fully processed by the IRS. Sometimes the IRS catches and corrects mistakes you made. And the Form 1040X you will need is not available yet. Amending too soon can cause confusion and long delays.
