I forgot to put a child to. My taxes for 2024 can I add them one evening my taxes have already been accepted

You will need to file an amended return to add a dependent child.

As you have already filed, please wait to see if your return is accepted or rejected. If rejected, you may correct and resubmit. If it is accepted, you need to file an amended return.

If you are expecting a refund, we recommend that you wait to amend until after the IRS has processed your original return and you have received your refund.
