Since you didn't e-file or mail in your return, you can follow the steps below to reopen the return and make any changes. Login to your return Go to the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents." Click on SHOW to expand that section. Click "Add a State" (that doesn't really add one; that's just to open the return back up.) Once the return is open, you can resume working on your return to make any corrections.

I need to amend my return and did not mail out my paper tax return, so I do not need a form 1040X. How do I do that?
