Question

I need to amend two years worth of state tax returns that were not prepared originally through Turbotax. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

That would be pretty hard to do -- and expensive-- if you did not use TurboTax to prepare your federal returns for those years. When you use TurboTax the information flows from the federal return to the state returns. So first you would have to prepare federal returns that matched the originals exactly and then prepare the state returns, using the CD/download software for those tax years, and then amend them..Whew....

If you did not use TT for your federal returns, it would be better if you use the software that you used for the original state returns.
