Question

I need to ammend my taxes but somehow my desktop file was deleted. I went online but turbotax says that I haven't filed yet. How do I ammend now?

Purchased the Deluxe product through Costco. Cannot speak with a live person.

When you use the downloaded program the return is ONLY saved on your computer or any back up files you saved.   If the return cannot be found then you will have to  redo the return again and when it is as it was file originally you will need to "trick" the program into thinking you filed it by choosing the FILE BY MAIL option in the FILE tab and then close and save the return.   Then you can open it again and amended it however you will also need to mail in the amended return since the efile acceptance was lost.
