Are you saying you've paid for your online return, but haven't filed it at all; i.e., you have not efiled it and have not printed and mailed it.   Is that correct?

If so, you can open an unfiled return to make any changes in it prior to actually filing.  If TurboTax thinks you were finished, your return interview will be closed, so here's how to get back in:

  • Log into your account, and at the Tax Home or in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" for 2019, look for a link "Add a State."
  • Click on "Add a State."  (That doesn't really add one; that's just to open the return.)
  • Once the return is open, you can make any changes you need to prior to filing.
  • Also if you make changes to the Federal side, if you have a state return, you should step through the State section to be sure all changes were applied there as well.
  • Once you've made your changes, go through the REVIEW section again to be sure everything is still in order.
  • Then go to the FILE section and choose a filing method, then follow the next screens and prompts to finish filing the return.
  • If filing by mail, it will prompt you to print your return and the Filing Instructions.
  • If efiling, be sure to continue all the way to the end to a screen with a big orange button "Transmit Returns Now" and click to transmit.

@ Odkb

I added another tip in my answer above.  You may have been emailed my first comment.  I added the following step:

  • Also if you make changes to the Federal side, if you have a state return, you should step through the State section to be sure all changes were applied there to your state return as well.
