I need to Efile my taxes but I accidentally pressed mail in taxes how do I undo that I want to direct Depot my refund to my account

If you log in and your return is closed becauseTurboTax thinks you were finished and that you were planning to print and mail your return, here's how to open it back up to change filing methods and select your refund method, etc.

 

  • Log into your Online TurboTax account.  
  • At the Tax Home or in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" and tax year 2019, look for a link "Add a State." 
  • Click that to open the return (it won't really add one.)
  • Then once the return opens back up, you can go to the FILE section and continue.

I also added a FAQ to the answer above with some more info.

 

NOTE:  Direct deposit of a Federal refund can be chosen no matter whether the return is efiled or filed by mail.  Efiling is normally the best way to file for most people, however, and is the fastest way to get a refund.
