Question

I need to reopen my unfiled return. It was accidentally finalized but not e-filed. I need to get back into it to make changes before I file/mail it.Alex Duarte

I did not intend to finalize the return (mail file option), and I have not filed or mailed it.  I need to get back into the program to make a change before I mail file it.

I spoke with a customer support rep, Heidi, in February.  She said I needed to wait for a form release.  Now that I know I need to make a change, I want to convert the return from "final" to the unfinished return so I can make the change before I mail file it.

Go to the Home page

Scroll down to "Your Tax Returns and Documents"

Click "add a State" (you don't have to add a state, but this will reopen the return)
