The 5-day rule applies when the IRS has processed and approved your refund and a date for direct deposit has been given. For example, if you go on the IRS website and the Direct Deposit is "scheduled" for "February 27th", that's when TurboTax 5 Days Early Option kicks in; it is not based on an assumption of when it might be ready, but rather on the actual date provided by the IRS.

I understand how the 5 day works. My question was will I get a refund since it's been passed the 5 days.?The website says I should get mine the 17th.So technically with the 5 day advance, I should of received my refund 2 days ago.Last year I opted in for the 5 day early and  received it in not even a week.I filed 1/29 this year.

Seems like you are NOT aware of the process. 5 days before the date IRS gives you, not 5 days from acceptance. Yes you will be refunded.

Remember that the “”5 day early” date is based on the date given to you on the IRS refund site—-not the date the TT site shows in your account.   If your refund does not come in five days ahead of the IRS date, they are supposed to cancel the $25 fee.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Today would be my 5 days early that I also paid for and I talked to an turbo tax expert and she said well the day is not over so you can technically still get your refund by the end of the day then she said when you sign up for the 5 days early it says “up to 5 days early” so it could be sent 1 days early and still get charged even tho it says “five days early guaranteed” then you have that $40 fee to put your refund in your own bank account plus the $138 I paid to file my taxes. I switch to turbo tax to get away from the big fees to file but they just have them spread out differently.
