Yes, you will need to amend your 2019 return if you did not qualify as a dependent. Doing so will change your eligibility to receive a stimulus payment. However, you must wait until your original return has been processed and you have received your refund (if applicable) to prepare and mail your amended return. Please follow the directions in this TurboTax FAQ to file an amended return.
