Both my husband and I are resident alien last year. I received scholarship last year and got an 1042-S form. My husband received W-2 form. Can we file our tax jointly? What forms should we fill out?

Thanks!

what is your visa status and since when are you in the US?

Yes you can still file your return jointly.TurboTax does not support Form 1042-S,you will need to enter all of the other forms and W-2s and e-file your tax return.

The good news is that you don't need to file From 1042-S with your tax return.Instead, download Form 1042-S from the IRS website, print it out, and then complete and mail it according to the1042-S instructions.
