I received a letter from the IRS 2465C. What does this mean?

IRS Letter 2645-C means that IRS received something that doesn't match up with what they are showing in their system or they have a question or concern.   It is an Interim Letter with very vague explanation identifying these items as potential concerns:

  • Correspondence
  • Telephone inquiry
  • Payment
  • Form
  • Response to our inquiry or notice
  • Penalty abatement request
  • Installment Agreement
  • Other
