I received a letter stating my amount of inome tax withheld cannot be verified and the amount was corrected.

Ok are they correct ? Did you make a data entry error ? Read the letter carefully ... did the IRS release a reduced refund amount ? If so you will need to amend the return to provide proof of withholding from your tax form you took it from.
