Question

I refinanced my house with the same company I was already using. Do I need to claim this?

Yes. Refinance usually results in a new account number so you should receive two 1098 forms.

Report both 1098 forms on your Tax return.

Once you are done with the first 1098, you will come to a Mortgage Summary Screen and should select "Add another Lender" to add the second 1098.
