I reported the sale of my second home by selecting form 1099S in Turbo Tax. After completing the form, Turbo Tax shows it as a 1099B on my return.

The sale is reported on 1099-B Worksheet, Capital Gains Worksheet and Schedule D section.

To report the sale :

• Select Federal Taxes 
• Go to Wages & Income 
• scroll down to Investment Income 
• Select Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other.
• If you land on Let’s finish pulling in your investment income select Add Investment
• On the screen Let's import your tax info Select Skip import ( Enter a different way in TurboTax online)
• Select Other and Continue
• Enter the name of the person or financial institution that brokered this sale
• For What type of investment did you sell? Select Second Home
