Question

I sent my 2019 taxes several months ago, but the IRS has not entered it into the system. I need to extend my 2020 taxes until 2019 is entered.

Your federal tax return is not due until May 17th this year.  The IRS extended the due date from April to May as a result of all the changes that occurred during the tax season this year.

Tax due dates for 2020 returns

Is there a reason you want to extend your return?  If you are trying to enter the Adjusted Gross Income, you can enter zero at this point if the IRS has not processed your 2019 tax return.  This should allow you to electronically file as the system will match the IRS records at this point since the IRS has not yet processed your 2019 tax return.

What to do if you entered correct AGI but still getting e-file reject message
