Question

I started working on my 2024 return and need to open my worksheet on my laptop. My worksheet is on my PC, which is being repaired. How can I access my data on my laptop?

When you use the desktop download, your return is stored locally ONLY on your own hard drive.  It is not stored online, nor can you access it from any other computer.

If you have a backup copy of the .tax2024 data file for your tax return, you can copy the backup to your laptop, install the TurboTax software on the laptop, and open the file. If you do that, keep in mind that any changes you make on the laptop will not automatically be transferred to your PC. You would have to copy the updated .tax2024 file from the laptop back to the PC.

If you need to install Turbo Tax on your laptop you can access your downloads here, https://shop.turbotax.intuit.com/commerce/account/secure/login.jsp?pagecontext=download

Do you have a backup copy of the data file ending in .tax2024?  After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to FILE - NEW). Enter some basic information, then go to the state tab and download the state program. Then try to open your existing return, go to FILE - OPEN
