Question

I think my W-2 put the wrong amount in the “federal income tax withheld” box 2, but my job says it’s correct. It isn’t though.

If you believe your W-2 is wrong you should discuss it with your employer or payroll company.  If you have all of your paystubs, you can add up the amount withheld from your check every pay period for 2023.
