I want to file a 1040EZ for my minor child with you. Am I able to do that? the background questions the program is asking not really relevant since not filing my taxes

If you are filing a tax return for your child, make sure that you are entering the name, social security number and all other information only for the child. There are always a lot of questions, but make sure that you answer them as if you are the child, not as yourself. Your information wouldn't be on the return, unless the child has unearned income   of more than $2100.
