I went from 4800 but forgot to add ssa-1099 and went to owing 3100 what did i do wrong

You did not necessarily do anything wrong.  If you went from having a refund to a balance due after only making the one change of including your Social Security income, then that income is being taxed based on the other income amounts included on your return.  

 

Double check your entries for the SSA-1099 to be sure that the amounts you entered are accurate.
