Question

I work for a company called Jyve and they sent me w-9. I'm confused as to how I file one for my turbotax? Or do I need to since I've filled and filed out the w-9 my jyve co. Sent me.

If you ever find yourself filling out a Form W-9, it generally means that a business or person who is paying you money needs your Social Security number so it can notify the IRS of the amount. This form is not used on your tax return.

You will be receiving a form 1099-misc at the end of the year. The 1099-misc is needed to fill out your taxes.

Generally this means you are being treated as an independent contractor (self-employed) as opposed to an employee.
