If I amended my tax return and then the IRS fixed it after I'd already amended is it possible for me to cancel my amendment and should I?

No, you cannot cancel an amended return if you already sent it in. But if the IRS fixed your mistake, they will end up just disregarding your amended return. That will take months since it is taking at least six months or more for the IRS to process amended returns.
